Conversations About Race

Whilst working as the Programme Support Assist for UWE Graphic Design, I acted as the creative director and facilitator for the 3rd year publication designed by the 3rd year graphic students (class of 2019). The intention of this piece of design is to act as a toolkit in order to start conversations that too many are too afraid to start. We worked over the course of 6 months conducting research, workshops and designing for the book.

A key element was to simplify the design in order for the content to be easily digested. We focused on 2 tones, the use of block text and contrast. This is one of my favourite projects to date as we printed over 1500 copies and the response and feedback was beyond belief. We shared it across cultural organisations, gave it out at talks and it came highly requested by those in senior positions.
